Initial and recurrent simulator-based training is available for unpressurized models of the Aerostar series of piston-twins at SIMCOM’s Orlando, Florida and Scottsdale, Arizona training centers. Pilots can choose to use either a Piper Navajo or Twin Cessna visual-motion simulator for comparable Aerostar training or opt to substitute flight time in the actual airplane instead of time in the simulator. Multi-engine and instrument procedures are stressed in these courses with emphasis in the simulator placed on engine failures and resulting single-engine operations. Courses offered include a three day initial, a three day recurrent or an optional two day advanced refresher.
