Today SIMCOM Aviation Training celebrates the grand opening of its newly constructed aviation training center in downtown Lake Nona, Florida. The 95,000 square foot facility can accommodate up to 12 full flight simulators as well as an additional six non-motion simulators. Five CAE manufactured full flight simulators including a Gulfstream G650, a Bombardier Challenger 3500, two Embraer Praetor 600’s and one Phenom 300, are now operational at the Lake Nona Center. The Pilatus PC-12 series 9, PC-12NG, and the Daher TBM-700, TBM-850 and TBM-940 simulators have also been relocated to the new center.

“From the outset our goal was to create an environment where learning can thrive”, says Eric Hinson, President, and CEO of SIMCOM. “The combination of our Lake Nona location, the design of our building, the technology and vision of our partners, and most importantly, our people, will provide customers with an unrivalled training experience.”

Customers attending courses at the Lake Nona Center can stay in downtown Lake Nona hotels which are within easy walking distance of the center. They can also choose from several downtown restaurants, and more are planned as the Lake Nona city center continues to grow. “We are proud to welcome SIMCOM to their new home in Lake Nona,” states Ben Weaver, Tavistock’s senior managing director. “This leading-edge facility not only signifies a major advancement in pilot training technology but also represents the vibrant spirit of innovation that Lake Nona is known for. We are excited to see their continued and significant impact on the aviation industry.”

The facility features two customer lounges, digital classrooms and briefing rooms, and a 156-seat auditorium. When fully occupied, SIMCOM will conduct more than 10,000 annual training events at the new center. With the addition of Lake Nona, SIMCOM is now operating from four training centers, three in Orlando, Florida and one in Scottdale, AZ. “We are building the aviation training company of the future”, continues Hinson “designed to meet the needs of everyone, from owner pilots to large fleet operators”.
